The Cadence Group
The Cadence Group is a regional young adult ministry (18-30-year-olds) of the Otterbein Church. The heart of Cadence Group is but a reflection of the Church in its most basic form. For centuries humankind has sought out ways to bring complexity to its relationship with the Creator. While most of these efforts were performed in vain they nonetheless have prodded us in the 21st century to return to the basic roots of this marvelous relationship. Jesus made it clear that we are to worship God, encourage one another, and finally, to serve one another. The Cadence Group’s vision is to see these three core elements lived out in the young adult community. The future leadership of the church can be found in this age group and it is our mission to see that they take hold of this truth and live it out.

Cadence Community Groups
"Small groups aren't just about getting together once a week. They are about our growth as disciples. They exist as tools to help us grow closer to knowing and becoming more like Jesus… with each other. Understanding this dramatically changes the way we determine whether or not our group is successful. In the Gospels, whether or not the disciples showed up every day didn't seem to concern Jesus, but rather He was concerned with whether they knew Him and followed Him. The question ceases to be, 'Is everyone coming to every group time?' and becomes, 'Is our group looking more like Jesus?'" —Michael Bailey, What is a successful small group?
The Cadence Group meets every Sunday morning at 9:20 a.m. in the OC House living room. The purpose of the groups will be to produce safe community environments which will act as a catalyst to help people to live out the Christian life together. We are currently using a small group DVD by Andy Stanley entitled Go Fish.
This new study by Andy Stanley will take the struggle out of sharing your faith. Go Fish. Fishing stories. We've all heard them. "It was this big." "You should have seen the one that got away." People love to tell stories of their fishing adventures. When it comes to faith, however, most people clam up. Why is it we can't talk about what God has done in our lives as naturally as we can spin fishing tales? Includes 6 sessions, entitled: We Were All Fish Once, Why Fish?, Fish Guts, Fishing Buddies, Muddy Water, and The One That Got Away. Each session includes fifteen to twenty minutes of teaching followed by several discussion questions. If you are interested please email davidjgross@mac.com.
