"The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood."
These are the words of the Apostle John about Jesus in the furst chapter of the Gospel that bears his name. They tell us that Jesus left His home in heaven and stepped into our domain in order to communicate God's great love and His plan of reconciliation to us in a way that we could understand. Our ability to comprehend what He wanted us to know was of extreme importance to Him.
What a great truth we as followers of Jesus have to communicate! God loves us so much and longs so greatly to have a relationship with us that He's made a way for that to happen. And that Way is Jesus. Not church involvement. Not religous acitivity. Not moral behavior. But only through a sincere personal trust in, commitment to and reliance upon the sacrificial payment Jesus made for you and me with His death on a cross and rising again from the dead. What a story to tell!
Here at Shift we've got a story to tell also, and we want to do it in a way that you can understand. That's why we've got four different areas on our website for you to visit. The "Middle School Students" section is for you if you are in grades 6 through 8. The "High School Students" section is for you if you are in grades 9 through 12. The "Parents" section is for you if you are the Mom or Dad or primary caregiver of one or more of these students. And the "Leaders" section is for you if you are an adult or student leader anywhere within the Student Ministry. Go ahead and check out any of the sections you'd like, but remember to get the information you need and interact in the section(s) that best describe you.
Welcome to the Neighborhood!
