Music & Creative Arts

Music & arts at Otterbein are presented with two goals in mind—worship & outreach. Each Sunday & during special services, we try to present the highest quality music & art that will inspire & encourage our congregation to worship God in a relevant & meaningful way. Our desire is to create an atmosphere where worship has the opportunity to happen. It is up to each individual to make the decision to worship God, but we in the music & arts ministry want everyone who attends a service to be drawn into worship by music that is of the quality & utmost integrity. We emphasize singing as a major part of our worship, but realize that worship is truly an all-encompassing act that relates to the other parts of our services, as well as the way we live our daily lives.

Praise Team

The Praise Team leads our worship services in singing each Sunday. It is made up of instrumentalists & vocalists. The Praise Team is open to anyone in grade 9 & older. It is by audition only. Instrumentals include acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards & other percussion as needed.

For more information about getting involved with the praise team or to set up an audition, email Dave Besecker, Worship Pastor.

Children's Worship Dance Team

Seraphim, Otterbein's Dance ministry, is for children ages 3–18 and is directed by Penny Jo Bach. They practice every Saturday morning during the school year. They perform in church twice a year.

FRIENDSHIP COMPANY

Friendship Company is a group for children in grades 2-6 to explore their God-given talents in singing and acting. The group meets in the K5 room on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Friendship Company members minister to the church during the Christmas Celebration, on Palm Sunday Weekend, and they are planning a spring musical.
