- JOIN US IN CELEBRATION TODAY - After sixteen years of faithful service at Otterbein Church, Pastor Dirk Small has announced his retirement. Pastor Dirk and Julie have experienced decades of ministry, and they are ready to begin a new chapter with their stateside family in Indiana. To show our appreciation, we will be hosting a special reception in honor of Dirk’s faithfulness in serving the Lord through ministries both locally and globally. Join us in the Worship Center Lobby TODAY-- Sunday, October 27 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity for our church family to thank Dirk for his dedication, share memories, and celebrate the lasting impact he has provided to the Local2Global ministry of Otterbein Church. Please join us as we express our gratitude and wish him well in the next chapter of his journey!
NOTEWORTHY NEWS
- GRIEFSHARE | SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS - The holiday season is fast approaching. This might be the first holiday after your loved one’s death or maybe it’s your second, third, or beyond. In the coming days, you are going to be facing some tough emotions. With the holiday focus on family, traditions, social events and “cheer,” emotions can blindside you. Knowing what to expect and being prepared can be an immense help. Surviving the Holidays is a one-night event designed to help you navigate the emotions of the holiday season. The group will meet on Tuesday, November 19, 7:00-8:45 p.m. in the OC 45 Building. We will begin with some light refreshments as we introduce ourselves to one another. Then we will watch a video, participate in a brief discussion, and encourage one another. Sign up by November 17 HERE, on the OC App, or stop at Connection Point. Feel free to invite others.
- OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX INFORMATION - We are once again partnering with Samaritan’s Purse in their Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection. Information, labels, and shoeboxes are available in the lobby today. ALL boxes must be returned to the church by Sunday, November 24. You can also PACK A BOX ONLINE FOR $25 ($31 if you add the Bible Study material to the box). You can choose the items you want to put in your box or have Samaritan’s Purse do it for you. Click HERE to pack your shoeboxes online. More information and resources for packing a shoebox can be found on the Sunday page of the website or the OC App.
- ELDER RECOMMENDATION FORMS - Do you know someone who attends Otterbein Church whom you believe should be considered for the role of Elder? Would you like to serve as an Elder at Otterbein? Between now and Nov. 3, the congregation can submit names to the Elder Selection Committee to be considered for the position of Elder. Qualifications, expectations, an overview of the selection process, and the recommendation form are available HERE or on the OC App. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Mike or one of the Elders.
